Five Funniest Moments in Lux Perfect Bride

Lux Perfect Bride is a so-called reality show on Star Plus, a channel that is aired in India. This is one show which I got into when I was channel surfing and heard Kailash Kher's beautiful song which was the title track. I have since followed the show, off and on, sometimes liking it, other times totally finding it monotonous. The show is now nearing its end and the final episode will be aired on December 12th 2009.

The format of the show is a little unconvetional where, as the title suggested, 10 girls vied for the title of Lux Perfect Bride from among five grooms. India being a country where marriages are believed to be made in heaven and lasts more than a lifetime, it is an apt setting for the show. The show organizers have no doubt tapped on the craze for weddings in India.

As we enter the final week of Lux Perfect Bride, let’s relive some of the outstanding moments --- be it funny, sad, happy or fully scripted ones! Today we look at some of the most rib-tickling moments. Following are my five most funny moments.

1. In the initial days, the kunwars played with a dartboard and named a girl they liked. Yash started by saying, “Gurpreet is a sweet girl. She’s very bubbly.” One of the kunwars interrupts asking, “How is her height?” Yash says, “Her height is good! She’s heighted!” That coming from a Pilani dude, LOL! Was he being funny? I don’t think so. It just looked like a slip of tongue.

2. In the first gala round, when the contestants were asked to name a bride/groom they would like to know, Rajbeer points out Priyanka saying, “I don’t know her name but I was really touched when I saw her AV”. When it was Priyanka’s turn, she says, “I don’t know your name”, Rajbeer interrupts saying, “Its Rajbeer”. Priyanka replies, “No, not you, the one in red, the one behind you”. LOL. It was Yashdeep!

3. Rumpa’s mom informs Rumpa that Hitesh has confessed to having many girlfiends. When the AV is aired in the gala rounds, Hitesh tells the whole world, “I’m worried. I hope Rumpa’s friends don’t come and ask about my boyfriends” LOL! What a slip of tongue! This no doubt will bring in many punters talking about his liking to push guys to the bathroom! First Vivek, then Priyanka’s brother :)

4. Sudeshrani Chauhan’s bearded husband is shown, in an AV, teary-eyed in one of the gala rounds which later prove to be an onion-cutting session. When Sudeshrani sees it she says, “I was wondering who this bearded man was and why he was crying. Koi jawani ki dino ki chupa ashique toh nahin.” LOL! Did she have many, I wonder. This lady, though, has a very quick tongue and an answer to every question.

5. When Pooja was voted the Bride of the Week (BOW) the second time, she invited Hitesh to meet her mom over tea. As soon as Hitesh enters, he hugs Pooja’s mom and promptly sits on her lap. LOL. Such immaturity and impetuosity never has the television seen!
